Supporting Others through Programs and Love

I'm Not Just A Number

How did we acquire the name?

The story behind the name of I’m Not Just a Number is deeply personal and impactful. It all began one day while serving at the Woodman Unit. Our team entered a dorm, and a young woman sat at one of the tables. The director of this ministry approached her and asked, “Why haven’t you been attending class?” She hesitated before replying, “Honestly, I was hoping you didn’t recognize me. I thought you just knew me as a number.” That moment marked the birth of our ministry’s name.

How often in life—whether as teens, young adults, or adults—have we felt like just a number? So many of us have carried the weight of unworthiness, believing that our choices, decisions, or the circumstances of life define us.

I’m Not Just a Number exists to challenge that belief. Our mission is to pursue the one among the ninety-nine, showing each individual that they are seen, valued, and deeply loved.
